Nadeem
Siam

Built quietly. Proven repeatedly. From space engineering working on NASA, ESA and RUAG Space, to automating deep-sea engineering for Shell, BP and ExxonMobil to founding regulated fintech infrastructure across the UK and United States.

Nadeem Siam is a dual Egyptian-British serial entrepreneur, technology innovator, and global fintech founder based between London, the US and the Middle East — with a career that spans satellite engineering for NASA, ESA and RUAG Space, deep-sea energy projects for Shell, BP and ExxonMobil, and the founding of regulated financial technology companies across the UK and United States.

Born in Egypt and a dual Egyptian-British citizen, Nadeem pursued an exceptional academic path in space engineering — earning two Master of Science degrees in Astronautics and Space Engineering from Cranfield University, and in Space Technology from Luleå University of Technology in Sweden. This foundation took him to the frontiers of space exploration: structural analysis on NASA's MMS satellite programme at KTH, and shock-load analysis for space structures at RUAG Space where he was mainly focused on the Galileo satellites' onboard computers and guidance system. What defined him even then was an instinct to automate — to replace manual, repetitive analysis with algorithms and intelligent systems that delivered results faster, more consistently, and at scale.

That instinct was fully realised during seven years at INTECSEA, a global subsea engineering consultancy, where Nadeem served as Lead Engineer and Project Manager on international deep-sea energy infrastructure projects for Shell, BP, and ExxonMobil. He developed and deployed advanced algorithms, custom engineering software, and early automation tools to standardise workflows that had always been done manually. The result was engineering delivered with machine-level consistency in a fraction of the usual time — a working proof of concept for what technology-driven scale could look like in any industry.

In 2017, Nadeem applied that same philosophy to financial services. He built his lending platforms not with large teams, but with proprietary technology: automated credit decisioning, fraud detection, compliance, onboarding, and loan management systems designed from day one to serve at scale with a lean core team. The UK platform — launched as WeLendUs and rebranded to Fund Ourselves in 2019 — earned full FCA authorisation and was recognised in the Fintech 50, TechRound100, and the World Banking Awards. Separately and simultaneously, Nadeem founded WeLendUs Inc., an independent US-based lending business. Across both platforms, he raised over $200 million and delivered investor returns consistently exceeding 17.5% per year for over seven years, through the COVID-19 pandemic, the UK cost of living crisis, and broader market downturns.

For much of this period, Nadeem operated deliberately out of the public eye — discretion was a strategic choice, not an absence of ambition. He built while others collapsed. He retained authorisation while competitors fell into administration. He delivered returns while others wound down.

Today, Nadeem leads Finular, a multinational FinTech group operating across the UK, Europe, and the US — the evolution of everything he has built. His track record is not defined by any single company. It is defined by a repeatable method: build on proprietary automation, operate lean, achieve disproportionate scale — and do it across borders, across markets, and through economic cycles.
